The international Vos
Every year, children from abroad come to live in the region of Maassluis, Rozenburg, Schiedam and Vlaardingen.
These children often do not speak, read or write proper Dutch. It is important that they learn Dutch quickly so they can participate well in Dutch schools. The International Vos offers education for this purpose at Bachplein in Schiedam.
Our purpose is to teach students aged 12 to 18 as much as possible in two years, so they can attend regular schools. We focus mainly on Dutch, but also offer subjects taught at regular schools. We do this in a small and safe environment…
Explanation of study costs
What does the school pay for?
The school provides the books, teaching materials and digital material you need for your classes. This is free for you. Even if you take extra subjects, you do not have to pay for them.
What do your parents pay for?
Your parents pay for personal items such as gym clothes and materials you can use for a longer period of time, such as dictionaries, atlases and calculators.
In September, your parents will receive an e-mail with all your costs for that school year. This will also explain how they can pay and in how many payments. The contribution for the parents’ association is also mentioned.
Travel costs can be paid via a digital portal. When you have to pay depends on when the trip is.
What is paid from the voluntary parental contribution?
The voluntary parental contribution pays for extra things that the school does not receive money for from the government. These include tools, field trips, sports days, trips and festivities. Your parents can choose whether you participate in these extra activities. The amount of this contribution is discussed and set each year.

At The international Vos schools, there is an official who is well informed about school fees. Besides providing further information, this person can also assist you if the cost is a difficulty for you and your child.
